Testing of Food supplements

Food supplements are products in liquid, powder or solid consistency /matrix, derived from vegetable/natural products or synthetic products which contain vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, tissues and organs of the metabolites produced in the form of tablets, capsules, gels, bars, lollies and more.

Tests are based on the following regulations:
1. Ordinance № 47 of 28.12.2004 on the requirements for food additives (Title edited in SG issue 44 of 2007) issued by the Minister of Health, SG №5 of 14.01.2005 , effective from 1.08.2005;
2. Ordinance on the requirements for dietary foods for special medical purposes, in force from 1.01.2014;
3. Ordinance on the requirements for food with special purpose, in force from 01.04.2014;
4. Ordinance on specific food requirements intended to be used during intensive muscular tension, especially for athletes (in force from 17.10.2016;
5. COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 1881/2006 of 19 December 2006 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs (Text with EEA relevance)
6. List of prohibited substances for athletes by the standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) www.wada-ama.org. Prohibited substances in 2019 are listed here

We want to remind you that the terms “herbal” and “natural” does not necessarily mean that the product is “safe”!
